Faulkner’s Island Open House in September 2010
The General Public Open House this year is the weekend of September 11th and 12th. The ferry will depart each day from the Guilford Town Marina starting at 9:30 a.m. The ferry can accommodate 20 passengers each trip. For safety reasons, children must be 8 years or older. Visitors will have approximately 1 hour on the island. Private vessels are welcome! The island will be open to visitors from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. September 11th & 12th. Upon arriving at Faulkner’s Island, all dinghies, kayaks, canoes, and inflatables should beach their crafts on the shore just north of the boat basin on the west side of the island. Other mariners on larger vessels can anchor and come ashore by a water taxi provided by the Faulkner Light Brigade. All events related to this Open House are weather related. This is a joint venture of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the US Coast Guard, and the Faulkner’s Light Brigade so everyone’s safety is our primary concern. An updated message at (203) 453-8400 will be provided each morning of the Open House.
Reservations for the ferry need to be made prior to the Open House. Primary contact is Marie at faulknerslightbrigade@gmail.com. The secondary contact point is the FLB answering service 203-453-8400.
